28 Gifts for Female Travelers

For a travel-loving girl, life is usually about experiences over things. It’s something we all have in common. But that doesn’t stop our loved ones from wanting to gift us something special every once in a while! And often times this lack of desire for material goods makes us a little challenging to shop for.

But look no further, I’m about to share some of my top gift ideas for the girl in your life who would rather travel than anything else! From jewelry to experiences, this list will give you a number of options to show you care. I tried to include a nice range at different budget levels as well - so there is something for everyone!

1. Pacsafe Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Backpack

This backpack from Pacsafe is the perfect gift for any girl who loves to travel. Not only is it super cute and stylish - but it also features a protective zipper system that makes it safe to use within crowded cities without fear of theft.

2. Compass Necklace

I’m obsessed with any jewelry that hints at a travel lifestyle, so I’m sure the passionate traveler in your life will love pieces like this too! Here is a darling compass necklace from Etsy - looks great stacked or standalone.

3. Kosan Raincoat

I can’t tell you how many rainstorms I’ve gotten caught in while traveling. And as long as you’re prepared, it can feel like part of the adventure. I LOVE my travel raincoat from Kosan that is super lightweight, comfortable and folds up tiny so I can easily pack it for the day. Highly recommend this item to everyone!

4. Luggage (Away or Calpak)

Another great gift idea for travelers is a set of nice luggage. Away is a fantastic brand - lightweight, equipped with a re-chargeable battery, and you can fit a surprising amount in it! I’ve also been loving some of the cute patterns from Calpak - such as this marble luggage set (you can also buy one piece). I have the Luka Duffel Bag which I adore as well.

5. Instagram Highlights Covers

If the traveler in your life is into Instagram, a set of story highlight covers could be the perfect way to spruce up their channel! A friend of mine, The Miss Miles, sells them on Etsy, make sure to check them out HERE!

6. Airbnb Online Experience

Don’t limit your thinking to just physical gifts as well. Think about ways you can activate her wanderlust during times at home as well. Airbnb has some wonderful Online Experiences that you can look into! Everything from K Pop Dancing to Balinese cooking to virtual tours thru the streets of Prague learning about the history of the plague. There’s something for everyone! And it’s a great way to connect and do something together as well!

7. Passport Cover

A unique passport cover is a great way to a traveler’s heart! And it’s a relatively inexpensive gift with many different styles of options. Here are some cute options from Amazon: Pink Leather Passport Cover, Watercolor World Map Passport Cover, Floral Lilly Pulitzer Passport Cover. There are also some darling options on Etsy as well.

8. Scratch Off Map

If your traveler friend doesn’t already have a scratch off map, you’re gift search is over. This is a wonderful way for someone to document where they’ve been, as well as add a nice piece of artwork to their wall. Plus it can make for a fun little afternoon art project as she scratches off all her travels. I LOVE my Wander & Explore Scratch Off Map - the minimalist, watercolor design is the perfect addition to any wall.

9. Travel Books

There are so many options to chose from - depending on the girl in your life’s particular vibe. From coffee table type books like 1000 Places to See Before You Die to travel memoirs like 10 Years a Nomad (from blogger Nomadic Matt) to comedic stories like What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding. Or for the avid reader, perhaps a long epic like Shantaram - that brings a specific destination to life.

10. Packing Cubes

A set of packing cubes can really change the game when it comes to packing. Not only do they help you maximize your space, but they also are a great way to stay organized when you travel. Help your loved one pack smarter with this handy gift!

11. Filter Water Bottle

For the conscious traveler, I’d recommend a LifeStraw water bottle. It’s perfect for travel and camping - complete with a water filter that removes bacteria and protozoa from lakes, streams to ensure safe, clean drinking water. If you want to take things a step further, you can purchase a water purifier - it’s more expensive - but takes out ALL pathogens (including viruses) from water and heavy metals. If you want to be able to drink all water all over the world without issue (and will be in cities with water that comes into contact with humans and livestock), I’d splurge on the more expensive one.

12. Travel Utensils

Another great option for conscious travelers who are committed to the environment is a portable utensils set! I love this one that comes in a fun rainbow color, plus you get a couple straws as well. With this set in hand, your loved one can easily eat out without worry - and avoid contributing to the plastic and waste problem.

13. Portable Charger

There are many options for portable chargers these days, of all strengths and price points. I think a sturdy one that is able to recharge a phone several times over is the best to carry for travel. Especially if you’re in developing countries and staying in budget accommodations that don’t always have a lot of outlets.

14. Fingerprint Padlock

Another handy item that I like to take on my travels is a fingerprint padlock. This allows you to safely lock up your personal items, no matter what type of circumstance or accommodation you’re in. Help protect the person you love with this thoughtful present!

15. Jewelry Roll

For the traveler who always looks stylish on the go, consider a pretty jewelry roll to carry her accessories! I love this pretty one from Uncommon Goods. It definitely has a free-spirited, bohemian vibe - perfect for the wanderer in your life.

16. Map Wall Art

There are endless options for cool wall art with a travel theme. But here is something I LOVE from Etsy. It’s a 5 panel watercolor map of the world. Great for filling a large area. Other ideas at a little bit lower price point would be a tapestry or getting a print made of the traveler’s own art!

17. Waterproof Backpack

I have had my waterproof backpack for years and it’s really saved me on numerous occasions! I’ll always remember this boat trip we took in Colombia - when I had thousands of dollars of camera equipment, my whole group’s phones, etc. And as we were being pummeled by water, I was praying that the backpack was as waterproof as it claimed! 20. Travel Cord Roll

21. Infinity Scarf

I’ve had one of Lululemon’s Vinyasa scarves for years and always bring it when I travel! It is the perfect multi-purpose scarf/shawl/blanket. And when I travel I’m ALL about multi-purpose. I’m obsessed with my sustainable, eco-friendly Girlfriend Collective sets. All their items are super comfy and flattering; plus they are made from recycled water bottles - pretty cool, huh? The brand is cool and trendy and you’ll definitely be seeing much more of them in the month to come!

23. Presets

For the girl who loves to take photos, a set of presets to enhance her photos is the perfect gift! Many creators on Instagram sell there presets in bundles….and it basically acts as a filter that can be put on the photo in Lightroom. I find presets to be an amazing opportunity to understand photography and photo editing better. You can use the presets to see what works, what doesn't and to develop your own unique style. My favorite presets are from Aggie Lal of Travel in Her Shoes.

24. Headlamp

Here’s another handy gift that will help your loved one stay safe while on her travels. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been traveling and wished I had a headlamp. It can come in handy in so many different situations….camping….sunrise/sunset hikes….safaris….and much more!

26. AirFly

The one downside when it came to AirPods was not being able to use them on planes. But that’s no longer the case! With this handy dandy Airfly adapter, you can now use your AirPods on airplanes!
