Perfect Itinerary for a Grand Canyon Weekend

14aug-blog.jpg

I’ve had such bad wanderlust, and desire to travel to far away places, that I have often overlooked some of the very cool stuff in our own backyard. The Grand Canyon is a prefect example of that. I’ve travelled to over 30 countries but never visited this magnificent site that is a short plane ride away.

So if you have limited travel time but are itching to travel, I highly recommend heading to Arizona to see this seven wonder of the world - formed by millions of years of erosion, wind, rain and the Colorado River, & stretching an impressive 227 miles long & ~ 10 miles wide. This itinerary was done over a weekend - missing ZERO days of work.

So I know this post is a very short. But then again, this blog is for busy people who want to travel more. No time to read longwinded posts, am I right? Let’s just get to the point!

Sunday, Day 2

  • Morning: Tour Upper (& Lower) Antelope Canyon

    • Check in for Antelope Canyon tour 2 hours before start (at least 90 minutes required), then head to Horseshoe Bend instead of waiting around the Antelope Canyon Tour takeover (only about 10 minutes away), Horseshoe Bend can be done roundtrip in about 45 minutes with stopping to take pictures.

  • Afternoon: Drive back to Grand Canyon (2 hours)

  • Late Afternoon: Hike South Kaibab Trail (3 mile / 6 mile / 9 mile loop options); head back before dark.

    • If you are going all the way back to Phoenix, you may have to skip sunset (depending on how late you want to stay up!)

Monday, Day 3

  • Early Morning: Catch the first flight out that morning

Well I hope that was interesting and helpful to you! Let me know if you have any questions while planning your Grand Canyon trip!!
